About the Poems
by MTC Cronin These little poems are from a manuscript called Trees Like Grasses (subtitled, short & light prose-poems). The poems exist almost to ‘say nothing about something’ but also to ‘say something about nothing’. They are moments that pass but which may be revisited as time goes nowhere. Like all poetry they are idiosyncratic, annoying in their own way and enjoyable if the right drug for the right person. Most of the poems in the book are joined to an object but some are of a process. They are very relaxing to write and while doing so I’ve often found myself ‘on the other side’ of a thing or happening.
