Louisa Spaventa - Bio

Louisa Spaventa, author, actress and performance artist, teaches English Composition at Austin Community College. In the last eleven years she has performed poetry around Austin in bars, galleries, and stores of the book and vintage variety. She believes in the pageantry of poetry. According to poet Jill Alexander Essbaum, "Louisa's poems read like a grimoire. They are complicated little hexes: wee, intricate incantations." Louisa's poems have been published most recently in Coconut 9.
