About the Poems - CEPPlace is my obsession, and one's place in the world - in a geographical, social, spiritual and emotional sense. These poems explore the place where I live - which is Edenic with a bacchanalian sensibility (think lush, verdant and virile). Moving between reality and myth, these poems seek to define - or at least, grasp - Eden. I laughed a lot while re-imagining the original couple. I wish I could have them over for dinner. The haiku are snapshots of my older son's first year - and my first year as a mother, and what it was like to inhabit (or more like "crash," as in "a party" or "into") that world. These poems stem from a manuscript on called The Garden, which will be published in the future by someone - a very special someone. |
