About the Poems
by Grace Cavalieri Although I did not know Anna Nicole personally and never met her, I was drawn in. These poems are unauthorized, and are fantasy, not fact. I remember more than I know, for I did not even follow Anna’s life closely, displayed on TV. I was touched by her spirit and vulnerability. My poems are imagined, to create my own Anna Nicole. “Who the gods would kill, they would first make famous.”I thought Anna deserved an interior life, so I gave her one. I filled her with words and thought s and ideas of sorts, yearnings, and cake. I am so happy No Tell Motel is premiering some of these poems on January 28. Her birthday was November 28, and for Anna, everything comes a little after the fact. My book of poems will be out (A Menendez Publication) in 2008, as part of the DiDi Menendez empire. Along with Reb Livingston and Molly Arden, Anna can now sit at the table. She has a family.
