About the Poems - ALAbout the Poemsby Amy Lemmon I could say that these poems advance a theory of memory and image and sensory impression, demonstrating the way a beer bottle becomes iconic, or a cheesy pop song sticks in your head to resurface decades later, or a brand-name cigarette literally burns itself into your consciousness. But really, they are just little tales starring a character sort of like myself, a girl, then later a woman, always looking for something—meaning, love, some sort of answers—and who still is not quite sure of the questions. |
