About the Poems
by Shane Jones I had fun writing this poem. I really liked the idea of a person or creature who was only half-scary, meaning he was scary half the time and nice the other half. The poem also creates a strange little world where people in the town do things like build chimneys around themselves and throw cotton balls at clouds that I was really drawn into. There's also a sense of paranoia throughout the town that I was interested in exploring. It was fun to write. It took about three days to finish it.
