Much of the biographical information is drawn from Vanished Act: the Life and Art of Weldon Kees by James Reidel, and the material for the cento comes from Weldon Kees and the Midcentury Generation: Letters, 1935-1955 edited by Robert E. Knoll. The author is grateful to Reidel and Kroll, and to the University of Nebraska Press for publishing their books.
