About the Poems
by Elisa Gabbert & Kathleen Rooney These poems were inspired in part by the book Concrete Reveries: Consciousness and the City by Mark Kingwell. We are both frequent walkers in our respective cities of residence; the city in these poems is modeled loosely on New York. Each prose block contains 14 "lines" and in this sense they are modeled, again loosely, on sonnets.
