by Fred Schmalz These poems grew out of an increasing feeling of being isolated in a small town in Germany, a kind of "distance from loved ones" vibe. Several of the poems make pop culture references (Gazprom's brutal tactics, Ricky Lee Jones, Marcia Yockey) which I suppose is something atypical for me.
