by Carol Guess These prose poems are from an unpublished manuscript titled Rogue Agent Burlesque. I'm obsessed with the figure of the rogue agent in popular culture, and have a vague theory about how the choreography of such figures draws on the revival of burlesque as a popular art form. My spouse and I live in a small town in Washington state, close to the Canadian border, and our town feels very much an open city—a frontier town where anything goes. And yes, I'm sure I chose my title long before Sarah Palin chose hers!
