About the Poems - ATAbout the Poemsby Aaron Tieger These are all part of a half-planned sequel to my chapbook Days and Days (Pressed Wafer, 2004), tentatively titled And Days (or Advanced Days and Days for the RPG geek). While the project will probably never come to fruition I’m pleased that the poems are getting out there. All of these were written at the beginning of the tail end of my time living in Cambridge, MA. 9/4/03: Central Sq., working in one of the MIT Libraries’ offsite collections marking boxes of records for destruction. "Stop stop and you go go go" is from "The new garage" by the Secret Stars." 9/11/03: The date is entirely irrelevant to the poem. 12/01/03: Driving two hours on Monday morning to get to my job in Maine at by 9. Joni Mitchell, Gram Parsons, Basho, Pop Will Eat Itself. 12/14/03: Marathon Fung Wah trip through blizzard from NYC to Boston following the launch party of Sea Shanties of Old Vermont (Ugly Duckling, 2003). The trip took something like 6 hours. Wrote this in the first 30 minutes and sat back and waited. |
