About the Poems - TBAbout the Poemsby Timothy Bradford These poems come out of a post-confessional stance modified by linguistic play. I recall getting out of class for confession during my time as a Unitarian/agnostic at a Catholic high school, and the frisson I experienced while sitting in the near dark talking to a disembodied voice and playing an unfamiliar role. And just as in those confessions, most of the details here are twisted to suit a poetic purpose and to serve the development of the persona in the poem, regardless of the persona’s occasional proximity to parts of my life. However, I do hope the reader thinks he or she is getting “the real Timothy Bradford” and lets me know who he is once he’s been identified. |
