Sally, There and Their

Kristin Kelly

Beddy Bye, says some
mom, stuffing her hand
in the dim sum.
                     Behind
blurt Betties, What a dumb
shop. I have in me, left,
no human.

              All the glass and heft
of happy’s hour make Betties
shook and broke
and say, What a dumb
sum of hims
.

              Here stop the feminines
of Betty. Off with the bonnet,
baroque petties. Dan’s lint-brush
she pockets, though.
We keep that hush-hush.
