Sign (Neon)

Catherine Daly

Why allow her out there then,
into the other?

To keep her illuminating permission, authority;
to tell it like it is.

She will try to intercede, to please,
to plead light's case.

She might as well charge the ether,
indict night's shadows

violating every procession
by proceeding

to the next bar, the last hotel, the vacant
lot, the grave.
