An Identical Beginning Gave Way To Us All

The clouds today are like so many

gobs of shaving cream,

behind which I can discern a set

of terror-stricken eyes

whose familiarity

diminishes

any need for a face,

any need for a mirror

to reflect

their overwhelming likeness

to my own.
