Medea VII / Return

Anna Maria Hong

I loved a Prince and then a King but love
was not all that was left to me. I was
other subjects, topics. I was incapable of
first premeditation. I was reactive

until well after the third act. Then, in
the final stage, I felt an absence known
as ease. I felt the presence of a live
expansion. I had three sons, two lost, one saved.

I understood what tugged me over ocean.
I touched the center and the circumference
of a civilization. I experienced

triumph, terror, triumph. My ambition
preceded me pitched as survival, love.
I returned with influence. I moved.
