A fact of pressure

Tamiko Beyer

Frankly, trouble. And then –

oh to be elliptical, to be the planet’s path.

I have watched them go round and round and

wish to never descend. Descent a fact of gravity,

burst a fact of pressure. They upend, they preen,
enumerate what spills: crude, blow, flow

Extract meaning from –

who turns around and says what happened

was delirium? Or censure. Says

what happened never did. Dare you.
