Variations of a Brother War ( Possibilities Triptych )- 3

J. A. Tyler

Ghosts

What it meant to be Miller was to whisper bees. What it meant to be Miller was to hold a brother’s head underneath the river and let him up before the breath left. What it meant to be Miller was to love Eliza and to have her love back. What it meant to be Miller was to open wounds and stand within them, listening. What it meant to be Miller was to fall from forever, was to trip over the complicated ground. What it meant to be Miller was to have everything held against the body and then to disappear.
