The Temperature’s Movie Life

Amy King

Because my walls aren’t
moneyed enough

On lost highways,
the highways lose us.

This punch of luck drives
your scavenger mind
into mid-template where

Marilyn as metaphor is
applepie modeled on
the grandmothers of invention.

They taste as sweet and long-legged as
we sit on brown shag carpet.
